LA PAGINA OFICIAL DEL
FESTIVAL LATINOAMERICANO DE WASHINGTON, DC
2000
PROMOTIONAL PLAN
The
Festival has long enjoyed high visibility in the mainstream and Spanish-language
media, including TV, radio, and press. In the past, the event has been
featured on the front pages of the Washington Post and the Washington
Times, in U.S. World and News Report, and in every local Spanish-language
publication. To get the word out about the Festival and its sponsors,
the Festival's promotional plan includes repeated exposure through different
media. We use both electronic and printed media, as well as culturally
and linguistically appropriate outreach strategies - such as postering
and flyering in targeted neighborhoods and sites and street banners -
to broadcast information about the Festival.
- POSTERS AND FLYERS: A
promotional XXX Latin American Festival poster and smaller fliers will
be designed and widely distributed at targeted sites throughout the
city
- TV AND RADIO STATIONS' SPONSORSHIP: Area
TV, AM and FM radio stations will be secured as sponsors for the XXX
Latin American Festival.
- PSAs AND NEWSPAPER WEEKEND CALENDARS: The
Festival makes extensive use of free public service announcements and
weekend calendars. Festival organizers will regularly provide the media
with program updates and changes to the calendar. Specific publicity
targets are The Washington Post Weekend Magazine, The City Paper, and
the Washington Times, TV Channels 4,5, 7 and 9, and various cable channels.
Radio stations include both English- and Spanish-language stations on
AM and FM, and local newspapers including La Nacion, El Pregonero, Impacto,
and the Washington Hispanic, among others.
- PRESS RELEASES/PACKETS: In
addition to prepared materials, contact with both electronic and printed
media is ongoing.
The XXX Latin American
Festival has different levels of sponsorship to suit your particular business
or company. Sponsors have the right to review promotional materials prior
to release.
